The Group of
National Travel Agents' and Tour Operators' Associations
within the EU represents the national associations of travel
agents and tour operators of the 25 Member Sates of the
EU. ECTAA also counts 8 affiliated Members and Observers.
ECTAA represents the interests of almost 80,000 businesses,
with an estimated combined annual turnover exceeding €50,000
million. ECTAA is recognized by industry and decision-makers
in Brussels alike as the representative of travel agents
and tour operators. ECTAA is an esteemed consultation partner
on any policy issue, legislation or action having an impact
on the travel industry.

The European Federation
of Campingsite Organisations is the representative body
of the caravan, camping and holiday parks industry at the
European level, including chalets, lodges, caravans, tents,
motor homes and all forms of self-catering accommodation
in the park setting. EFCO represents an industry of some
20,000 holiday parks, holiday villages and campsites throughout
the EU. The sector provides some 10.8million tourist beds
in Europe. European Commission research indicates that the
sector receives no less than 22% of all holidaymkaers in
Europe, on average each year. EFCO's first and main objective
is to ensure that interests of the industry are understood
and teken into account in the European Union decision-making
process whilst facilitating the exchange of expertise within
the profession.

The European Tour Operators
Association represents tour operators bringing tourists
into Europe, as well as their suppliers. In the main, ETOA
members bring clients from long haul origin markets such
as North America, Japan, South East Asia and Australasia.
These markets are fragile, evolving and highly competitive.
ETOA delivers this message to local, national ans European
institutions. It acts as a direct link between politicians
and businesses. and fights protection and over-regulation
throughout Europe. ETOA has over 350 members, consisting
of tour operators, hotel chains, coach operators, reservation
systems, shops and restaurants. ETOA members moves approximately
12 million clients per year, bringing in over €10 billion
in foreign earnings.

The International Road Transport
Union champions the entire road transport industry, including
operators of coaches, taxis and trucks, regardless of company
size. It defends the interests of all road transport operators,
both passengers and goods. IRU, through its worldwide network
of over 150 members in 64 countries, works in close co-operation
with national bodies and intergovernmental and non-governmental
organisations. IRU steers the development of road transport
laws and regulations, providing advice and recommendations.
The IRU is the guarantor for the TIR system, enabling trucks
sealed at Customs offices at departure to cross borders
without further checks until its final destination.
